KoiMudPond.com is an education based website that hopes to become a valuable resource to inspire even more people to come to love koi fish. Our group has an education and science background that we want to use to help teach the basics about koi in a way that is easy for even the beginner to quickly understand. Some of our staff started out knowing nothing about koi, and found even after months of looking at different websites we still found it hard to distinguish a "Sanke" from a "Showa."
Thought we would try an approach that took what we saw was helpful and combine in one website. The hope was that KoiMudPond.com could help bring people that already love koi fish together and inspire others to love koi because they "understand koi" after using our website.
We already worked hard on developing webpages that list different koi organizations and international shows, and want to expand with information on the farms that produce the healthiest and safest koi fish in the world and how to obtain them. We hope that working with farms will also help us keep our "International Show" section up to date because these partners can share that information and we will post it as we get it. If a graphic was sent of the poster, we would post that too.
Another goal is to do what we can to help STOP the spread of diseases in koi and hope to expand that section with the help of our farm sponsors. The dangers from the spread of fish diseases impacts everyone really as people can dump koi in waterways that could expose our food supply to disease and even take over the waterway with an out of control population. Antibiotic resistance is another major concern our ours as bacterial infections are a growing problem. We know there are koi farmers that are role modes for the world on how to safely farm fish and think it is important to save koi fish and our wild fish populations that we all learn more from what works.

There will be a $100 yearly maintenance fee, but will be glad to make changes at that time if you want to add new pictures or change out text or video. Other changes can be made during the year for a small maintenance fee that will be far BELOW the standard $85/hr charge for a web developer.
